Year 2, Day 61

For much of the first half of this week, I was preoccupied with a variety of things (work, movies, podcasting, etc). Yesterday, I ended up bedridden, likely having come down with the same bug that benched our babysitter a couple nights ago. Given all of this, I feel like I've barely seen Miles at all … Continue reading Year 2, Day 61 →

Year 2, Day 60

In our seemingly unending quest to get Miles on his feet, we've acquired one of those scooty toy things for him to push around and ride on. And you know, so far it seems like a pretty good half-step for him!

Year 2, Day 59

The board was set earlier this month, all the moving pieces in place, in preparation of tonight, which brings with it the premiere of the first Avengers movie since the last one. Seriously though, for dad, this was a huge night. Given the rough nights we've experienced this week (and how challenging it was to … Continue reading Year 2, Day 59 →

Year 2, Day 58

In which Miles has a tumultuous night, and mom and dad reach their wits' end. Another week of fitful sleep for Miles culminated in a night that was unpleasant for all involved parties. Given the trend this week, I think Jaclyn and I were both braced for sleep interrupted. But here's the trick -- if … Continue reading Year 2, Day 58 →

Year 2, Day 57

Miles's vocabulary, although filled with plenty of babbling, still seems to get stronger every day. Tonight, as I was getting ready to head out to trivia, I heard Miles and Lisa in the kitchen as they were getting ready for dinner. Lisa, in German, was getting Miles hyped, telling him that he was going to … Continue reading Year 2, Day 57 →

Year 2, Day 56

I alluded to this in a previous post, but Miles has become increasingly conditional about the circumstances under which he eats. It's gotten to the point that he won't even allow us to feed him, closing his mouth and turning his head unless he is not only holding the utensil but is also putting food … Continue reading Year 2, Day 56 →

Year 2, Day 55

Miles has risen...to a modest basket of gifts on his second Easter! Still, the highlight of Miles's Easter (or maybe it was just ours) was being able to see our friend Becky and her own little baby. Miles, always interested in seeing other children, clearly felt an immediate kinship with the young lad.

Year 2, Day 54

Miles is heavily resisting climbing onto his feet to grab things, but he's still willing to reach as far as he can from his knees. In this case, that was just far enough to swipe my wallet...

Year 2, Day 53

MILES HAS BREACHED THE WALL. REPEAT, MILES HAS BREACHED THE WALL.

Year 2, Day 52

Jaclyn has been pretty sick today, and I've had to cover for her in common affairs of the home, getting Miles up and dressed this morning, racing home at lunch to bring Jaclyn some much-needed supplies, and going out after trivia tonight to obtain Easter eggs and candy for a party at daycare today. By … Continue reading Year 2, Day 52 →
