Whatever the delivery method, be it lip contact or blowing, Miles is pretty generous when doling out kisses. However, I never expected his affection for a certain friendly neighborhood wall-crawler to warrant such generosity.

Year 2, Day 130
We've seen a lot of growth in Miles over the last couple weeks. And while a lot of this has been positive, not every aspect of growing up is desirable. A...sure, we can call it "developmental milestone"...we appear to have reached in the last couple weeks involves Miles's response to the more unsavory parts of … Continue reading Year 2, Day 130
Year 2, Day 129
Our Fourth of July was a pretty quiet affair this year (save for the neighbors launching tiny missiles into the heavens throughout the evening), but we still went up the street for a drink at Blue Blaze Brewing. First sign that you're visiting the bar too much? The bartender knows what you want before you … Continue reading Year 2, Day 129
Year 2, Day 128
One addendum to our Massachusetts trip -- we stayed at an Airbnb our first night in Cape Cod, and our gracious host was a percussion teacher. She asked if it would bother us if she had a lesson while we were there, to which I -- knowing how into it Miles was likely to be … Continue reading Year 2, Day 128
Year 2, Day 127
Miles returned to daycare today, and it honestly feels strange going through my day without him now. Our trip to Boston marked the longest sustained time I've spent with Miles since the two weeks after he was born, and it's crazy to me to reflect on just how much he seemed to grow in that … Continue reading Year 2, Day 127
Year 2, Day 126
We were fortunate to have a smooth, uneventful trip to Boston last week, but this morning's return flight was always bound to be more arduous. First, we were leaving the morning after the wedding. Second, we were staying in Cape Cod and were going to need to drive at least two hours to get to … Continue reading Year 2, Day 126
Year 2, Day 125
Today was the long-awaited, much ballyhooed wedding of Miles's Aunt Andrea and her now-husband Scott, and while this event was just as lavish and memorable as one might expect, the biggest takeaway for me was that it yielded the single greatest video of Miles ever. Behold. Miles also learned how to use a motion-sensing faucet … Continue reading Year 2, Day 125
Year 2, Day 124
I worry that the attention Miles received from the women at tonight's wedding rehearsal dinner may have given him some unrealistic expectations for what life in general will be like further down the road.
Year 2, Day 123
We left Revere Beach this morning, but not before taking a moment to walk along the actual beach. Afterwards, we visited Plymouth while we were en route to Cape Cod, and Miles may have found his calling...as a colonial-era judge.
Year 2, Day 122
A restless night for Miles led to a rough start to the day for all of us. Nevertheless, we dragged ourselves out of bed and headed back into Boston for a walking tour followed by some relatively aimless shambling about. His favorite moment of the day might have been feeling the breeze on a Boston … Continue reading Year 2, Day 122
