This little boy has been in our lives for six months today! Just 35 more of these increments and he'll be headed off to college!

Day 164: Baby’s First Flight!
About a week ago, Jaclyn became aware of a professional development opportunity in Denver, Colorado. "It's in October!" she said. Sounded like a great chance for a family trip to me. Jaclyn soon offered one small correction. "It's actually next week." Ample planning be damned; today we woke up at the crack of dawn and … Continue reading Day 164: Baby’s First Flight!
Day 146
We finally captured Miles rolling over, in all his triumphant glory, on video! And at the end of the video...well I frankly don’t know what the heck he’s doing.
Day 125
Given the okay by his pediatrician, today marked Miles's first encounter with solid(ish) food. Mixed with some good, home-grown boobie juice, we attempted to feed Miles some of that baby oatmeal I was wondering about the other day. The results were...well...see for yourself.
Day 122
With Miles's advancement in size, we've had to bid farewell to his bassinet in favor of a larger space in which to sleep. Something more...cage-like (hey, he'll be crawling any day now!). We've given the Pack 'n' Play a couple tries already, and Miles has slept in it with no problem. He's also clearly already … Continue reading Day 122
Day 116
Miles reached another milestone this week (or "Miles-stone," as his Uncle Scott calls it). In recent weeks, he was clearly growing increasingly discontent with being held over the shoulder or, especially, sitting in his carrier. When placed in the latter, chest to chest with either me or Jaclyn, Miles has tended to turn his head … Continue reading Day 116
Day 113
Today marked the next big (and hopefully LAST big, for the time being) transition phase of Miles's young life -- starting daycare. So far, it's seemed like just as we get into a groove with whatever our current situation is, that situation changes in some way (me going back to work, Jaclyn going back to … Continue reading Day 113
Day 105
Another big milestone today, as Miles rolled over mostly unassisted* for the first time (as far as I've seen, anyway)! Not only did he roll over like a boss, he immediately lifted his head to look around. At this point, I fear he's days from becoming a safety hazard on his diaper changing pad. No … Continue reading Day 105
Day 99
It's been 19 days since we last checked in on Miles's emerging practical implementation of his digits, and things are proceeding nicely! Not only can he get his fingers around his bottle, he does so the second it nears his mouth and pulls the bottle in (forcibly, if I'm being honest), and he can actually … Continue reading Day 99
Day 88
Today, the nanny let Jaclyn know that Miles burped so loudly this morning that it actually made him jump. This baby finds new ways to impress me all the time, in ways that I was unprepared for. I just hope I bear witness to these achievements as often as possible.
