The day Miles has been waiting months for finally arrived today and there was no question that he was going to spend the whole day celebrating. Jaclyn picked up a dozen themed donuts to get the day started. Within moments, Miles was covered in chocolate. After breakfast, Miles saw little reason to get dressed for … Continue reading Year 4, Day 248: Miles’s Fearsome Fourth Halloween!
Last night, Jaclyn went out to meet a friend, presumably leaving me and Miles to do whatever we wanted for the evening. I should've known she had a task for me to complete. This particular time is was mandatory arts and crafts. Our job was to construct PJ Masks decorations for the trunk-or-treat event we … Continue reading Year 4, Day 247
It's just over a week until Halloween now and it better get here quickly, because every day Miles gets more and more "ideas." I've already talked about his existing plan (which will, sadly, be fully realized), but this morning he took it one step farther. "Guess what?" were his first words to me today. A couple weeks ago, Miles acquired his Halloween costume. Today, I saw a glimpse at my own Halloween future when I laid eyes upon Jaclyn's just-arrived costume... For reference: Only one is missing now, and it's that goober on the left. So it looks like I'll be Gecko for Halloween, the timid PJ Mask who … Continue reading Year 4, Day 216
I came home tonight to find that our house has a new protector. Why'd I even pay for a security system with this cat around?
It is not yet what I would consider to be remotely close to Halloween, but when I run across the seasonal Reese's variety pack (of bats, ghosts, and pumpkins) I show no hesitation, regardless of the actual season. For Miles, of course.
Jaclyn: "Who's your pet, Miles?" Miles: "A reindeer." Jaclyn: "What's his name?" Miles: "Rudolph." Jaclyn: "Where does he live?" Miles: "In the shadows." I think Miles is trying his best to add a little Halloween into every major holiday.
