Guys, when the heck did my kid get so huge? Jaclyn took Miles with her to the grocery store yesterday and was gone for maybe two and a half hours, but by the time she got back I swear Miles had grown like a foot. After she placed him on his changing pad, I suddenly … Continue reading Day 246

Day 229
Another big food milestone today, as Miles tried peanut butter for the first time! Mixed in with his baby oatmeal, he seemed to really get into it and, most importantly, forego any allergic reactions. Oh, and he's discovered a love of bananas. Maybe he is my son after all!
Day 221
Yesterday, Miles tried meat for the first time. Today, he's perusing the menu at our favorite Mexican place. Talk about progress!
Day 220: MEAT
Today was the day: Miles finally feasted on flesh for the first time, enjoying a meal of pureed chicken meat (so basically a more wholesome version of pink slime). After my trivia show, Jaclyn merrily informed me that Miles began rejecting the chicken soon after this video was shot, but only after he was also … Continue reading Day 220: MEAT
Day 208
Tonight, Miles refused to go to bed, resorting to bellowing and thrashing about...all for want of mashed potatoes. He got his first taste of them tonight, when I regretfully gave into the persistent gaze he directed at my dinner plate. In my hubris, I granted him but a tiny taste of the fluffy, white mass. … Continue reading Day 208
Day 186: Daddy’s First “Not My Son” Moment!
As regular readers know, we've been trying out a variety of foods with Miles over the past week or so. He's taken to some of these nicely, while others have required a little warming up to. Miles is definitely a fan of sweet potatoes, while avocado will likely require some "jazzing up" before he'll revisit … Continue reading Day 186: Daddy’s First “Not My Son” Moment!
Day 183
Miles turned six months old yesterday, and that milestone brings with it another visit to the pediatrician. Miles is now weighing in at 15 lbs, 15 oz and is just over 26 inches long. His tactile development is coming along nicely, and we were told to expect crawling within the next three months. The doctor … Continue reading Day 183
Day 144
Miles again expresses interest in solid foods.
Day 125
Given the okay by his pediatrician, today marked Miles's first encounter with solid(ish) food. Mixed with some good, home-grown boobie juice, we attempted to feed Miles some of that baby oatmeal I was wondering about the other day. The results were...well...see for yourself.
Day 121
Miles, somehow, is four months old (!) today, and in honor of this occasion, we sent him back to the pediatrician for more shots. But let's not dwell on that -- how about some more important stats? Miles is now 13 pounds and has grown two inches since his last appointment! Despite his chunky appearance, … Continue reading Day 121
