Year 4, Day 223

Miles was watching a Halloween episode of Arthur* this evening as Jaclyn sat nearby, working on her computer and enveloped in work until she heard a sudden THUD from behind the couch. She hurried over to find Miles huddled on the ground with his head against the floor after evidently diving behind the furniture.

“Miles!” Jaclyn said. “Did you get scared?”

“No!” he replied quickly, desperately trying to save face. “I’m just seeing what’s on the floor!”
