On Friday, the world lost someone who was certainly one of the biggest icons of my middle school years (and onward, really) — Kevin Conroy, the longtime voice of Batman across countless animated projects and video games. Given his impact on me, and knowing Miles’s own interest in the character, I focused quite a bit of this weekend on paying tribute to Conroy in one way or another, whether it was our Family Movie Night selection, wardrobe decisions, or background music over Sunday breakfast.
All of this clearly had an impact, as I walked into Miles’s room this afternoon to find that he had crafted his own “Bat Signal.”
Yeah, the “bat” might be a bit abstract, but I have to admire his effort. I think Batman would be proud.
