As Miles was rummaging through the Christmas stuff last night, digging out all sorts of decor we weren’t exactly ready to display just yet, he ran across the stockings. He studied them for a moment, then pulled one out and held it high.
“Look!” he said, pointing at the glittery letters at the top of the stocking. “It’s my name!”
Jaclyn and I looked at each other. This was the first time he had accurately identified his name in front of us!
“It is?!” I asked incredulously.
“Yeah!” he said, then pointed letter by letter. “M…I…uh, what that one?”
“L,” I said.
“…L…E…S!” he finished. “Miles!”
We cheered and clapped, lauding his (almost perfect) letter recall.
