Miles went through most of his infancy without really developing a tendency to cram things into his mouth. As such, it’s been surprising recently to find that Miles is suddenly very interested in sucking on all of his fingers.
And even though I’ve been paying very close attention to this behavior and have been trying to curb it, I was somehow still not expecting Miles’s reply to my question at bedtime tonight. “What was your favorite thing at school today?”
He considered this for a moment. “Um, eating my fingers,” he said with a smirk. He knows it gets under my skin.
“No Miles!” I said. “What did you learn about?”
“My fingers,” he said.
I rolled my eyes. “Come on. What did you really learn about?”
“I learned about my mouth…”
My eyes narrowed.
Then he added, “…eating my fingers.”
