A couple of unrelated anecdotes that demonstrate Miles’s growing propensity for goofiness:

I

Miles sneezed this evening.

“Bless you!” I said to him.

“Yeah! Bless you, me!” he said to himself.

A bit later, Jaclyn retrieved the mail from outside and came in thumbing through it.

“Oh, we got an Amazon Catalog!” she said, waving the annual holiday catalog so Miles could see it.

“Yeah I wanna eat it!” Miles exclaimed.

“Miles! You don’t eat a catalog!” Jaclyn replied.

“Lemme eat it NOM NOM NOM.”
