Today was...rough. For a number of reasons, both personal and professional, I returned home after another long Wednesday feeling completely battered. As I pulled into the driveway and pushed the button to open the garage, I craned my neck, as I always do, to look up to Miles's bedroom window and see if he's asleep … Continue reading Year 5, Day 68
My staycation is over, and I had to get to work early this morning -- too early, in fact, to take Miles to daycare. I stopped by his room on the way out of the house to say goodbye and wish him well, although he was predictably crabby and didn't want to get out of … Continue reading Year 4, Day 109
After excitedly telling Miles's daycare about his encouraging walking progress this week, they shared a video with us today so we could get a glimpse of how well he's been doing with them. I had an early meeting this morning, and Jaclyn and I decided it would be best if we waited until after that to take Miles to daycare. It felt weird leaving first thing in the morning without Miles in tow, and it was a little more difficult getting out the door with his smiling face … Continue reading Day 295
We were out at dinner tonight when Miles leaned over the side of his high chair and evidently discovered his shadow for the first time. He spent the next several minutes waving at it.
It seemed like all of the parents arrived at daycare simultaneously to pick up their assorted infants and toddlers today. I walked into Miles's room to several bodies, hustling, bustling, and of course plenty of loud noises, ranging from laughter to crying. And through it all, Miles sat in a chair on the far side … Continue reading Day 187
