Year 3, Day 264

Whatever my ideal way to spend some alone time on Sunday might be, any extended period during which I'm left with an empty house in generally spent the same way: cleaning. Specifically, I vacuum, sweep, and mop the floors (which, regardless of how long it's been since their last cleaning, always need it). For the … Continue reading Year 3, Day 264 →

Year 3, Day 229

I returned home from podcasting this morning to find that my living room had been completely remodeled and turned into a fort. Miles is...somewhere under there. I ducked under the canopy to see if I could get a glimpse of the creator dwelling within, but this was the best photo I could get: Not exactly … Continue reading Year 3, Day 229 →

Year 3, Day 207

Miles got a haircut today, then went out for ice cream with his buddy Duke. He actually taught Duke how to eat his first ice cream cone! And of course Miles ate his "Superman ice cream, with sprinkles" without ending up wearing a substantial portion of it. Kidding. Of course he ended up wearing it.

Year 3, Day 32

Overall, potty training has been going ALARMINGLY well for Miles. He's now at the point that he almost never uses his pull-up during the day and can even typically make it through naptime without any accidents. And then there's today. This evening, I asked Miles if he needed to "go pee-pee." Miles said, "No," and went … Continue reading Year 3, Day 32 →

Year 3, Day 16

This evening, as Miles was busy staying up a bit too late and having a little too much fun, he asked for a piece of cheese. I handed him a slice, and he merrily walked off, eating it.A few minutes later, he comes over to me and says, "Daddy, daddy...cheese," while pointing across the room."On … Continue reading Year 3, Day 16 →

Year 2, Day 329

Looking for something fun to do with Miles before we headed back to Charlotte today, we landed on taking a trip to the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher. He loves sharks (baby ones, anyway); why not let him see a few up close? Well he absolutely loved it. Fish, sharks, seahorses, jellies...he was mesmerized for … Continue reading Year 2, Day 329 →

Year 2, Day 267

Miles really loves pointing out facial features on himself and others ("Eyes!" "Nose!" etc). Sadly, it appears he's still learning how each of these uniquely function, as he tried eating pasta with his eyes and forehead last night.

Year 2, Day 262

On a recent trip back to Myrtle Beach, Miles acquired three different puzzles that formerly belonged to my cousin's son. One puzzle depicts a fire truck, another the letters of the alphabet, and the third a variety of animals. Miles absolutely loves these puzzles, can identify many of the pieces, and is even getting pretty … Continue reading Year 2, Day 262 →
