Year 2, Day 178

As a follow up to last week's post about Miles's Top Summer Jams, here's an example of Miles arbitrarily deciding when the "ABCs" are finished.

Year 2, Day 135

Well, it's official -- Miles has determined the roles Jaclyn and I play in his life and has started demanding we each fulfill those roles and ONLY those roles. Jaclyn is the provider. She feeds him. She puts him to bed. She bathes him. If I attempt to intervene and take any part of this … Continue reading Year 2, Day 135 →

Year 2, Day 85

It's ceaselessly entertaining observing Miles interacting with things that, for whatever reason, he's become transfixed by. Sure, he loves birds, balls, balloons, and cottage cheese (?? weirdo...), but one of his more unexpected and, frankly, bizarre interests is in the human belly button. And while he always leads off with fussing from his bed, he brightens up the second we bring him into our bedroom. Sleeping should be the easiest behavior in the world for us … Continue reading Year 2, Day 67 →

Year 2, Day 63

While he's always giggled a little at his own sneezes, Miles has discovered that there are few things more hilarious than a full-bodied adult sneeze. After I was beset by a series of such sneezes last night, Miles started actually mocking me. Watch until the very end to see him ask for food, then immediately … Continue reading Year 2, Day 63 →

Year 2, Day 11

It was raining pretty heavily when I picked Miles up from daycare today, so I tossed him in the car then climbed in to take off his coat and get his belt buckled. I almost never do this from inside the car, and getting his coat off quickly turned into an impromptu tickling session.
