Jaclyn, coming home from the grocery store just before dinner time: "I brought you a surprise...cookies!" Me: "I'm not sure you should've told him what the surprise was before dinner..."
With the end of another grueling week of isolation (and work) (and parenting), we rewarded ourselves with some much-deserved burgers. Miles certainly enjoyed his!
Today, Miles got to celebrate another Mother's Day with his beloved mommy... ...and he also got to discover a new love...when he consumed his first Happy Meal.
Jaclyn: "Do you want pizza for dinner?" Miles: "Yep." Jaclyn: "What do you want on your pizza?" Miles: "Birthday candles."
Miles gets testy when we cut up his food too much ("Nono! BIG ONE!" he'll yell), so tonight we kept the cutting of his pizza slice to a minimum. We tried to warn him.
One of the benefits (downsides?) of being forced to stay at home is the increase in preparing meals ourselves. Three utensils in front of him, and of course my kid opts to eat cottage cheese and couscous with his fingers.
I made cookies last night, and it didn't take long for Miles to figure out where they were being kept. He also wanted to make sure his friends, one of whom you may have heard has an affinity for cookies, was able to get down on them.
This evening, as Miles was busy staying up a bit too late and having a little too much fun, he asked for a piece of cheese.
