I had to make a mad dash from work to trivia tonight, but thankfully I was able to see Miles (and his mother) for one fleeting moment after intercepting them on a walk. Thank goodness it was a sunny day!

Day 345
Tragedy struck this morning, as Miles clawed his way over to my coffee mug and managed to tip it over just as we were getting ready to walk out the door. Fortunately, all of the liquid spilled away from him as the mug went spinning across the floor, and Jaclyn and I worked in concert … Continue reading Day 345
Day 344
Last night, I experienced a parental rite of passage -- I stepped, HARD, on one of Miles's toys for the first time. And let me tell you, I almost wish it had been a nail instead. I bellowed immediately on realizing my folly, limping over to the dinner table muttering every expletive one could think … Continue reading Day 344
Day 343
The sound of this kid's laughter is the best thing in the world (and absolutely more entertaining than Super Bowl LIII! More like Super Bowl ZZZ, amirite???).
Day 342
Here's a new (maybe racially insensitive? Who knows anymore?) game Miles and I have started playing.
Day 341
FACT: This is the first time Miles has ever listened to "Thriller." Watch closely and you'll see (on either side of the burp, anyway) what appears to be a portion of Michael Jackson's actual "Thriller" dance. Could it be this dance has become so ubiquitous that it's now evolutionary???
Day 340
Miles channels his inner Keith Moon/Neal Peart/Animal.
Day 339
Jaclyn had some pressing work this morning, leaving it to me to make sure Miles got to his PT appointment today. I told his therapist about the substantial strides we've seen in the past week since he started, which she got to observe herself during the session. She was also impressed by his lack of … Continue reading Day 339
Day 338
No tears tonight when leaving Miles with his babysitter! In fact, Miles didn't give us much of ANYTHING...he was as P.T.F.O. as I've ever seen him. I tried to wake him up as we got out of the car, then once we were in the house, and then (and I was sure this would work) … Continue reading Day 338
Day 337
Most afternoons, Miles and I will get to a point about halfway through our drive home where we'll start playing this "call and response" game with each other. Typically, Miles will make a noise, then I'll make the noise back, then he'll make a different noise, and I'll echo that...you get the idea. Anyway, I … Continue reading Day 337
