Year 5, Day 267: The Fourth Dipsgiving

Today heralded the return of what has become one of the premier events of the holiday season — Dipsgiving, the friendsgiving that eliminates pesky things like silverware and most solids.

Looking back over the years, there has been a lot of child supervision that has had to go into these get-togethers, both for us and many of our friends. But this year marked the first time everyone’s kids were mostly old enough to be left to their own devices for a little while, leaving the adults (at long last!) free to slurp down Thanksgiving-themed goop until fully sated.

That’s not to say that this year’s Dipsgiving was an adults-only soirée. The kids partook of the dips as well, although they found the activity tablecloths much more interesting.
