As we walked in the door to school this morning, a voice from our left said, “Hi Miles.” I turned to find an adorable little girl standing near the front desk, looking at Miles and waving.
“Miles!” I said after he didn’t respond. “Say hi!”
Not breaking stride, he gave her a half-hearted, borderline dismissive wave without looking at her.
“Oh, come on!” I said. “Don’t give her the cold shoulder!”
He walked on to his classroom, exuding confident aloofness even as I asked him about the girl. “Who is she?”
“That’s Rosie,” he said.
“Well she seems nice. Is she your friend?”
No response.
Miles is obviously looking to carve out a reputation as a heartbreaker at an early age.
