Day 295

I had an early meeting this morning, and Jaclyn and I decided it would be best if we waited until after that to take Miles to daycare. It felt weird leaving first thing in the morning without Miles in tow, and it was a little more difficult getting out the door with his smiling face … Continue reading Day 295 →

Day 284

Miles hit another big Miles-stone™ this week. Almost as though a switch inside of him flipped , he woke up one morning and was suddenly pointing at EVERYTHING. Pictures, light bulbs (always a favorite), cars, me...he's just a pointing machine. He's even turned it into a game (beyond the "I'll just point at a thing … Continue reading Day 284 →

Day 235

Jaclyn had a salon appointment tonight, which didn't sound like a particularly fun way for Miles and me to spend our evening. I clearly underestimated Miles's affinity for plush leather chairs.

Day 222

It's always hard to get video of Miles partaking in his daily activities since he becomes so fixated on the camera/phone, but here's some rare footage of Miles playing one of his favorite games: "Smack the Baby's Reflection."

Day 193

Miles's dexterity continues to develop, as he slowly becomes more aware of his fingers and the potential housed within them. Case in point: tonight he started figuring out how to deliberately make a fist, then punch his opposing palm with it. You know, like one'a them tough guys.

Day 187

It seemed like all of the parents arrived at daycare simultaneously to pick up their assorted infants and toddlers today. I walked into Miles's room to several bodies, hustling, bustling, and of course plenty of loud noises, ranging from laughter to crying. And through it all, Miles sat in a chair on the far side … Continue reading Day 187 →

Day 185

It seems like Miles's muscle control and dexterity are improving exponentially with each passing day. He's able to grab objects, move his body to snag items that are beyond his reach, and pass items from hand to hand. Over the last week, Miles has really gotten into smacking things. His leg, his belly, my face...he … Continue reading Day 185 →

Day 146

We finally captured Miles rolling over, in all his triumphant glory, on video! And at the end of the video...well I frankly don’t know what the heck he’s doing.
