A few things about this video: Anything shaped like a square or rectangle is a book until proven otherwise (notice how he tries to "open" the cards). Miles really enjoys handing me things. He enjoys throwing things at his mother.

Year 2, Day 14
As with most things that are substantially larger than he is, Miles wasn't sure what to make of his birthday balloon, a large silver "1." He certainly loved looking at it from a distance this weekend, but bringing it close generally compelled him to turn away and try to escape from it. That changed today, … Continue reading Year 2, Day 14
Day 349
Celebrating a mouth FILLED with food!
Day 345
Tragedy struck this morning, as Miles clawed his way over to my coffee mug and managed to tip it over just as we were getting ready to walk out the door. Fortunately, all of the liquid spilled away from him as the mug went spinning across the floor, and Jaclyn and I worked in concert … Continue reading Day 345
Day 319
Just a young lad lounging as he contemplates a cube.
Day 318
My fellow Americans, I come to you with huge news. We have secured the $5.7 billion -- I mean the $57 needed to fully finance the wall. Now, it's not concrete and it's not steel slats, but it is made out of high-quality plastic. Extending nearly two feet high, it will completely stop the theft … Continue reading Day 318
Day 316
Miles was definitely an...active kid tonight after we got home. He went from attempting to eat the gravel in the fireplace to, as seen in the video below, eating actual food while also faux-conducting John Williams's score for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. And then he did something that I've been trying, unsuccessfully, to capture … Continue reading Day 316
Day 315
Miles has discovered that he can peek through the blinds and he doesn't like the looks of those teenagers!
Day 313
My heart sank as I witnessed Miles discovering how to open the drawers on the entertainment center. Even as he clunked himself in the head, he proceeded onward, totally unfazed. Time to babyproof everything!
Day 307
I mentioned this a little the other day, but it is absolutely amazing watching Miles's cognitive and tactile development. In what feels like the blink of an eye, he's gone from barely being able to hold things to passing items from one hand to the other, pressing buttons, and pointing at objects and people. His … Continue reading Day 307
