"Daddy, I'm a leg man." - Miles, in response to my question about why he has to do this every time I'm trying to lift him into the car. To clarify, he does this AS I'm putting him in the seat, which of course doesn't make things needlessly difficult at all.
The first thing my coworker said to me this morning after walking in: "I like how there's just a rock in Miles's car seat." The exact placement of that rock was hotly debated as Miles got out of the car at daycare.
When on a road trip, however short or long it might be, Miles always likes to be prepared. Which, in his case, means bringing a banana half as big as he is. "Daddy look at me! I'm a gorilla!" - Miles
I wrote yesterday about Miles's development from a literacy perspective, but the pride I feel about this pales in comparison to how I feel about Miles's timing and commitment when it comes to comedy. It was raining pretty heavily when I picked Miles up from daycare today, so I tossed him in the car then climbed in to take off his coat and get his belt buckled. I almost never do this from inside the car, and getting his coat off quickly turned into an impromptu tickling session.
Our recent string of misfortunes left us with a car approximately the size of a footlocker. Despite this, my dad instincts would not allow me to forego obtaining a tree of a size befitting Miles's First Christmas©. With a winter storm approaching and limited time left between now and the holiday, I knew Saturday had … Continue reading Day 287: Baby’s First Christmas Tree!
Last night, after the funeral had passed and knowing that the next day held a wedding in store for the family, I met several of Jaclyn's family members over at their hotel for a drink at the bar. We hung out for a while but, as the crowd started to dissipate, I decided to make … Continue reading Day 279: Baby’s First Grand Theft Auto!
