As I’ve mentioned a few times recently, conversations about possible second children have slowly become more prevalent in our house. Things ground to a halt over the weekend, however, when Jaclyn explicitly said that a second child would mean losing my reading room*. Fortunately, I had a backup plan.
And it’s already taken root! After bedtime tonight, Jaclyn asked me, in what was frankly an offensively accusatory voice, “Did you tell Miles he could get a bunk bed?”
I shrugged. “Kids love bunk beds!”
* And look, okay, before I start hearing anything about, “A reading room, Brian? SERIOUSLY?” let me say this: 1) “YES, SERIOUSLY” and 2) “It’s MY HOUSE and I made my intentions and needs clear before we bought it.”
