As I was trying to convince Miles to stay home with me and let Mommy go grocery shopping in peace this afternoon, I tried a number of persuasive tactics, from guilt to bribery. But perhaps my most honest attempt was offering to work on a project together.
“Come on, buddy!” I said. “Stay here and do a science experiment with me!” After all, we still haven’t gotten into his newest shipment from Steve Spangler.
“No!” Miles countered before adding, “Not a CHANCE!”
Jaclyn and I were both taken aback by the finality of his response, and I could only shrug at her. At least I tried.
