When Jaclyn called me between work and trivia tonight, she naturally reported that Miles was “being a butt.” In an effort to help him improve his attitude, I asked her to see if she could get him on the phone with me.
“No!” he cried. “I don’t wanna talk to Daddy!”
“Well what about the Easter Bunny?” I asked Jaclyn.
“Oooo, Miles!” Jaclyn told him. “The Easter Bunny is on the phone.”
Miles was much more receptive to this, seizing the phone from Jaclyn.
“Hi Miles!” I said, in my Easter Bunny voice (which is essentially a cross between Buster Bunny from Tiny Toon Adventures and Moe Szyslak from The Simpsons). “It’s me, the Easter Bunny?”
“…HUH?” came Miles’s response.
“How are you doing today?” I continued.
Miles considered this for a moment. My ruse had worked a year ago, but now? “Daddy?” he said. “Daddy the Easter Bunny?”
