We visited a new (to us) park today, and Miles was quickly drawn to the extremely nice, Hornets-sponsored basketball court adjacent to the playground. He pointed as we crossed the field leading to it. A handful of older kids were playing on the court.
“Play basketball,” Miles said.
“I don’t know if you can play basketball with them,” I said. “They look like pretty big kids. Adults even. Don’t they?”
“No,” Miles clarified, “I want DADDY play basketball.”
“…ehhh, that would probably be pretty disappointing,” I said, hopefully teaching my son a lesson about avoiding public humiliation.
