The older he gets, the more aware Miles becomes of daily routines around the house. For instance, he may not understand exactly what motivates me to get out of bed yet, but he is starting to grasp what I need once I do decide to get up.
Mornings like today, when Miles is out of bed before I am, he’ll walk into the room, laugh or greet me in some way, then move to the nightstand, where he’ll grab my glasses. “Here go,” he’ll say, either handing them to me or setting them down on the bed next to me.
It’s always a sign that it’s time for daddy to get up.
