Year 2, Day 113

There’s a new game I play around the house, a bit too frequently if I’m being honest, called “Was it Miles or Jaclyn?”

Typically played in the bathroom, the game involves being in an isolated part of the house and hearing a crash or thud or feeling a vibration in the floor, then speculating whether the sound or quake was caused by a baby or an adult human with…let’s call them “Bedelia-esque” tendencies.

Many of my guesses veered “Miles” early on and were accompanied by the requisite heightened heart rate and panicked emergence from the bathroom to see if he had knocked something over or fallen to the ground. As time has gone by and I’ve gained greater experience with these situations, the guesses have become much closer to a 50/50 split.
