Year 2, Day 16

Well, what Miles lacked in crying last night he more than made up for this morning, breaking into an uncharacteristic sobbing session on the way to daycare. Normally, Jaclyn passes him to me on my way out the door, we say “Bye mommy,” Miles waves, and we’re off to the races. Today, upon finding that he was leaving Jaclyn at home, Miles crumpled into a heap and started wailing. This only intensified as I started the car and proceeded down the road. All attempts to calm him on the drive proved fruitless, and it wasn’t until we pulled up to daycare and emerged from the car that he fell silent. By the time we got inside, he was his usual smiling, pointing-at-everything self. I have to wonder if he could even remember why he had been crying to begin with!
