Tonight we drove down to Columbia to see something that, like Miles, is a spectacularly awesome thing made by a married couple — Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s OTR II. Miles was excited when I picked him up from daycare early and really enjoyed the car ride.
Of course, once he realized we were leaving him with our friends Leeanne and Franklin (I think he’s starting to recognize the word “concert”), Miles became far less agreeable. Thankfully, by the time we reached the venue (which took over an hour in all honesty) his wailing had reportedly subsided.
The rest of the night proceeded without incident, for Miles anyway. Mom and dad, meanwhile, walked about two and a half miles to get to Williams-Brice Stadium, then another mile and a half afterward to reach an extraction point. And you know what? It was worth it.
Me: “Holy crap, this is the best concert I’ve ever seen.”
Jaclyn: “BEYONCÉ DOES NOT LOOK LIKE SHE JUST GAVE BIRTH TO TWINS WTF THAT ISN’T FAIR”
