Day 41

“‘Tis no man. ‘Tis a remorseless eating machine.” – Capt. Horatio McAllister

Miles had his checkup with the pediatrician yesterday, and everything is looking great. Jaclyn was most curious about his weight, given the exponential increase in his eating of late. We thought he ate a lot before, but recent sessions have proven long and bountiful.

Truly, Miles is an eating fool. Just a growing boy? Certainly, with his most recent weigh-in at 10 lbs, 1 oz. Let’s look at the numbers:

Weight at birth: 7 lbs, 11.5 oz

Weight four days later: 6 lbs, 11 oz

Current weight, 36 days later: 10 lbs, 1 oz

So in a month, Miles gained just over 3 lbs. At this rate, by his first birthday, he should weigh around 40 lbs. By year two, nearly 80 lbs. By age 5? A whopping 200 LBS.
