The grandparents (on my side) have arrived. Mom hasn’t been able to put Miles down, and even stood by while I changed his diaper (and the most remarkable part? She said NOTHING. No advice, no interjections…she was just awestruck by my changing skills). I felt so empowered that I even changed my brother’s diaper that evening (and it was BODACIOUS).
Even dad eventually said, “No one has asked me if I want to hold the baby!” clearly confused about the rights and duties of a grandparent (which include “You get the baby whenever the hell you feel like it”). Maybe they get the hang of being grandparents eventually?
Also, arm update: Miles is now capable of punching me in the face.
