Far and away, the best moment of my weekend was Miles pointing to me at bedtime, reaching out for my hand, and walking over to his room to read a book together.
Despite yesterday's post, Miles had little choice today other than to accept me as his sole provider and responsible party, as his mother was in Raleigh overnight for work. This morning, while Jaclyn was preoccupied with her sister's ongoing bachelorette weekend, I took Miles up to north Charlotte to visit with some friends and amble about for a bit. We stopped in at the Flying Saucer, and while I partook of an adult beverage, Miles opted to flirt with the waitstaff.
As a parent, I've found few things as problematic as a broken washing machine. Nevermind our own clothes -- the sheer amount of baby clothing that piles up after five days is substantial enough.
